Research philosophy

My research philosophy is deeply intertwined with the principles of sustainability, technology, and community engagement in architecture. I believe in leveraging advanced technologies not just as design tools, but as enablers of sustainable and inclusive environments that meaningfully connect with communities. My approach focuses on creating spaces that are environmentally responsible, technologically enriched, and socially inclusive.

I prioritize designs that are not only durable but also adaptive, capable of evolving with the community's changing needs, thereby fostering a sustainable future. In my view, technology serves as a vital bridge, enhancing community interactions and ensuring accessibility for everyone. Through my research, I am committed to guiding a new generation of architects to integrate sustainability, technology, and community involvement as fundamental elements of their practice, shaping spaces that are harmonious with both nature and human needs.

research CONTRIBUTIONS

My significant research contributions include: NAVIGAID Project: As the principal investigator, I developed an Artificial Intelligence-based navigational assistance system for visually impaired individuals, leveraging computer vision and deep learning.

CAUS Living Labs Initiatives: At Virginia Tech College of Architecture and Urban Studies, I led smart construction initiatives, focusing on integrating innovative technologies in architectural practices.

Robotic Manufacturing and Additive Fabrication: During my tenure as a Visiting Scholar at Carnegie Mellon University School of Architecture, I conducted extensive research on robotic manufacturing, construction technology, and large-scale additive fabrication.

Cloud Pavilion at CaixaForum Valencia: I played a pivotal role in the “Cloud” central pavilion project, implementing computational designs for robotic additive manufacturing and contributing to this groundbreaking architectural piece.

Solar Decathlon Europe Projects: I was actively involved in research for the (e)co house and Low3 house projects, contributing to sustainable housing solutions and energy-efficient design.

Engagement and Collaborations
